Kalyn and her family have always had a love for being active and any type of fitness. They were looking for a change in their fitness journeys and came across CrossFit. Needless to say, they fell in love with everything about it. They loved the story behind it and the atmosphere it created for working out. Kalyn and her family originally opened Knockout CrossFit in Lawrenceville, Ga in 2012. When life brought her and her family out to Oconee she wanted to bring that same that same passion and love for fitness to the community here! She obtained her CrossFit level 1 certification in 2012 and then her level 2 in 2017. ”I love being able to help people change their lives and also help out our community. Not many people enjoy their job, and I have the privilege of loving what I do everyday. I am very thankful for that!”
Jeremy began on his path to fitness shortly after becoming a fire fighter with Gwinnett County in 2011. He has obtained his Crossfit Level 1 certification and attended multiple classes to help further his knowledge of fitness. “I never played sports growing up so I was never really introduced to that competitive atmosphere. I did the whole “bi’s & tri’s day, chest & back day” thing for a while and quickly became bored with it. Out of curiosity one day I gave a CrossFit gym near my home a try and from that day on I was hooked! My favorite part has been the family like feeling and the competitive drive it gives you day in and day out. Being even a small part of helping someone achieve a goal or a certain level of fitness they’re aiming for is very rewarding!”

HEAD COACH | TRAINER
I was born and raised in Oconee, and 38 years later, I’m still here. It’s home. Always will be. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture. I worked in that field for over 12 years.
While working at a 9 to 5, I also developed a passion for fitness and nutrition. I have ran marathons, done a bodybuilding competition, lost over 50 lbs, and also put on weight in muscle. After seeing what fitness and nutrition did for me, it became my main focus for myself and for helping others.
A little over 2 years ago my husband and I were blessed with the adoption of our son. At this point, I quit my full time job with my company and stayed at home with my son. That is when I decided that I wanted to go back to work doing what I love. I want a life filled with passion, positivity and family. Well, here at Crossfit Oconee, that is just what you get! If you come in these doors, you will likely see some of my very awesome dance moves and a huge smile on my face. This is my happy place. My family.

JOSH GIBSON "GIBBY"
I am a Watkinsville native and 2003 graduate of Oconee County High School. I received my Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Shorter College in Rome, GA where I also played football and interned as the Strength and Conditioning coach. Throughout my life, I have always been active in sports, especially football. After my college years of football eligibility ran out, I had to find something active to fill the void. After moving back home to Watkinsville in 2012, I heard a lot about CrossFit and decided to try it out for the community. After my first workout, I was hooked. The community and friendly competition isn’t seen anywhere else in the fitness industry— CrossFit doesn’t discriminate against previous injuries, talent, or age and it’s amazing to experience together. There’s nothing more I enjoy than coaching, as well as competing in local competitions, & with those things, I hope to continue to better myself and many others through CrossFit.
After I graduated from high school in 2009 I started working out and was doing the “normal” gym stuff and following bodybuilding style workouts. My older brother had been doing Crossfit and I first heard about it from him. Finally, in 2013 I was able to try Crossfit for the first time after my mom got me a Groupon for Crossfit Oconee. After the first workout I was hooked and have been ever since. In 2016 I was asked if I wanted to earn my Crossfit Level 1 and become a coach for Crossfit Oconee to which I said yes immediately! Crossfit Oconee has been a huge part of my wife and I’s life since 2013 when we both started. Being at the gym and around the members is like being at home with family for me.

Sports were a big part of my life growing up. I played softball throughout my teenage years and after high school I missed the team atmosphere and community that I grew up around. I was introduced to Crossfit in 2013 and I found all the things I needed and wanted out of gym at Crossfit Oconee! The community and atmosphere keep you engaged and wanting to come back every day. I love going into the gym thinking I’m capable of “xyz” and coming out having been capable of much more! They truly push you to be your best and do your best every single day.
Nutrition was not a priority for me until 2015. I started working with a nutrition coach and learned about how my performance and goals were directly affected by what I ate. In 2017 I got certified in sports and exercise nutrition through Precision Nutrition (L1). I love being able to meet people where they are at and take them through the steps they need to take in order to reach their goals! I believe that a healthy lifestyle is one that should be maintainable long term and my goal is to teach athletes healthy habits they can use for life!
I was born in the Philippines and lived there until the age of 8, then I moved to the United States of America. I quickly became obese (240lbs @ 10 years of age) due to the easily accessed food. After realizing that I was unhealthy and over-weight, I began my fitness journey at the age of 10 years old. I began with the traditional body-building while competing in sports like football, basketball, track and mixed martial arts. Body building led me to compete in powerlifting for 2 years. After a few meets, I was introduced to Olympic weightlifting, and soon after I started CrossFit in 2014. I specialize in functional fitness, Power/Olympic weightlifting, and mixed martial arts. I hold various belts in Taekwondo, Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Judo. I had a few bouts in kickboxing and Muay Thai. I used to instruct events held annually for kids in mixed martial arts.
My body has seen its fair share of traumatic injuries, a lot came from poor coaching which led to my goals, show people how to improve their quality of life through PROPER functional exercise and nutrition. I am currently pursuing B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis of Sport and Nutrition at North Georgia while coaching at 4 amazing gym communities.

Allison began her fitness journey at CrossFit Oconee in 2013 after she relocated from Rome, Georgia thanks to her longtime boyfriend, Coach Gibby! She played various sports growing up, however she was very involved in music. Not having much of a fitness background, joining CrossFit was intimidating and completely unfamiliar to her. Thanks to the many friends she made and the sense of accomplishment after every workout, she fell in love with CFO.
Since Allison started from scratch, she really enjoys helping people obtain their skills by sharing every little tip that has ever helped her throughout her journey. Allison thrives on others achieving their goals, making her known as CFO’s biggest cheerleader! You will most likely find her behind the front desk, or behind a camera snapping those special moments for CFO’s social media accounts!
Hey everyone! As you already know(hopefully), my name is Ray Gann and I’m a student at The University of Georgia majoring in international affairs. Things I love to do include writing/playing music as well as exercising!
I started my CrossFit journey when I was around 16 years old and haven’t looked back since. At the beginning of my journey I weighed about 245 pounds of mostly fat. The only workout experience I had up until that point was football “weightlifting” and lacrosse “conditioning.” Exercising was merely an imposition to my happiness. That was until I started CrossFit, which changed my life forever. Within a matter of months, I lost 75 pounds and changed my diet completely. In a lot of ways, I have CrossFit to thank for saving my life.
I went from a lethargic and unmotivated 245 pounds to a confident and happy 160 pounds. My favorite part about CrossFit is the amazing community surrounding it.
I’m very thankful to have this job and I’m looking forward to the future of this awesome gym!
I’m Coach Deni! I discovered my passion for CrossFit seven years ago after I needed to find a way to recover and build strength from a knee injury I sustained while playing college soccer. After being in sports my entire life I was looking for a way to keep a competitive aspect in my life; I found that with CrossFit. The competitive side is a huge positive to CrossFit but I also found a community of people who shared my passion for competition and fitness. I began coaching at Knockout CrossFit five years ago after receiving my level one certification. While I love CrossFit my full time job is coaching youth soccer. I plan to keep coaching and expanding my knowledge and certifications for as long as I can!
